Joanna Vilme, B.Sc. (Hons.) (elle/she)

Ph.D. Student (Research / Intervention) — Clinical Neuropsychology

Joanna is a doctoral student in Psychology – Research and Intervention (Ph.D.), Clinical Neuropsychology option, at the Université de Montréal. She began her program in September 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Lippé and Dr. Robert-Paul Juster. She also holds an Honours Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from the same university.

Her doctoral research focuses on the impact of maternal depression on brain development and stress levels in young children.

Joanna is the recipient of several awards, including a Master’s Training Scholarship from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS), as well as two Canada Graduate Scholarships from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) at the Master’s and Doctoral levels. Her community involvement has also been recognized with awards such as the Montreal Lakeshore University Women’s Club scholarship and the Black Academic Scholarship Fund award.

In addition to her research, she is completing clinical training in neuropsychology, working with a diverse clientele of both children and adults. She is also actively involved in student training as a mentor at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Centre and as a co-supervisor for an Honours project.

In her free time, Joanna enjoys hiking, reading, and discovering new restaurants.
