Can the pacing of films influence brain development in children? Can it be used to induce sleep in adults? These are some of the questions that will be addressed after the screening of Samsara, the award-winning feature film by Lois Patiño. This meditative work offers an immersive audiovisual experience that will serve as a starting point for a discussion on the impact of cinema on the brain. Santiago Hidalgo, professor at the University of Montreal, will bring together researchers from fields as different as child development, neurology and film theory to discuss the role that the very structure of a film can play on our mind and our health.
